About Dr. Vilija Petrauskas
Dr. Vilija Petrauskas is a registered psychologist in Vancouver, BC (College of Health and Care Professionals of BC, #2375), with expertise in clinical and paediatric neuropsychology. She holds the rare distinction of being double board-certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) - in both Clinical Neuropsychology and Pediatric Neuropsychology. This dual certification is held by very few psychologists in Canada and reflects the highest standards of expertise and competence in the field.
Dr. Petrauskas earned her PhD in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Windsor, completed her residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and went on to complete a two-year APPCN accredited postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan. While her training includes working with clients across the lifespan, she specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessments for children and adolescents.
Previously a Senior Staff Neuropsychologist at Henry Ford Health System, Dr. Petrauskas is now on staff at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver where she provides neuropsychological assessments for children referred from a wide range of specialized medical clinics including Neurology, Solid Organ Transplant, Neurosurgery, Biochemical Diseases, Oncology, and Genetics.
Through her private practice, Dr. Petrauskas offers neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessments for children and teens with concerns related to learning difficulties, ADHD, brain injury, neurological conditions, developmental disorders, and giftedness. Her goal is to help families, educators, and healthcare providers better understand each child’s unique profile to support well-informed decisions about treatment, education, and support.
